Pancake Recipes

Traditional Pancake Recipe
The 3-2-1 Batter Recipe 

300ml of Milk

2 medium eggs

100g of plain flour
*As tradition goes, pancakes are made to use up items in the cupboard so pancake recipes vary, many use the same recipe for Yorkshire Puddings as pancakes. 
(Makes around 8 pancakes)



  • Whisk all 3 of your ingredients together, forming a smooth batter
  • Heat a tablespoon of your oil of choice in a frying pan on medium heat
  • Poor a thin layer of batter into the pan and cook for approx 30 seconds until golden brown
  • Flip the pancake - you may want to use a spatula to ease it from the pan first!
  • Cook the other side until nicely golden brown
  • Serve with your choice of toppings - or stack them up as you cook placing them on a plate separated by grease proof paper and keep warm in the oven on a low to medium heat

American Style Pancake Recipe

350ml (12fl oz) milk
2 eggs
200g plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sugar
vegetable oil, for frying


  • Whisk the eggs and milk and set aside.
  • Sieve the flour and baking powder in a bowl and add a pinch of salt and the sugar and mix
  • Make a well in the middle and gradually pour in the milk and egg mix 
  • Beat well
  • Heat a tablespoon of your oil of choice in a frying pan on medium heat
  • Pour half a ladle of batter into the pan to form a medium sized pancake 
  • Cook until you see bubbles forming 
  • Flip the pancake over and cook the other side until golden.
  • Serve with your favourite topping.
