Ackley Bridge Returns

Ackley Bridge returns for another run of eight laugh-out-loud, irreverent and highly emotional episodes set in and around a school designed to unite the divided white and Asian communities of a small Yorkshire mill town.

The school is now part of a large multi-academy trust. Mandy has a new nightmare boss Ken who has dumped a load of unmanageable kids from the trust’s other schools on to her. Along with a suspect 'A-team' of senior staff, joining the school are new hot-headed Deputy Head Martin and disenchanted Director of Behaviour Sue Carp.

As Ackley’s Year 13 pupils enter their final year they all face questions about their future. Will Nas get to Oxford? Will Kaneez and Rashid take things to the next level? What will happen with Sadiq? Only one thing's for sure: at Ackley Bridge, nothing is certain.

Episode One

It’s the first day at the newly integrated school, Ackley Bridge College, and best friends and neighbours Missy and Nas are now attending the same school for the very first time. Nas’ more conservative school friends take against Missy. Nas sides with her school friends and Missy, fuelled by anger, decides to play dangerous liaisons.

Meanwhile English teacher Emma Keane gets the surprise of her life when she finds out that she’ll be working with ex-boyfriend Sami. She then gets a further surprise when her 15 year old daughter Chloe bursts into her classroom drunk, having caught an Uber from Peckham.

Elsewhere Head teacher Mandy has problems of her own and puts her husband, PE teacher Steve, in charge of troubled pupil Jordan, but Jordan might prove too much for him to handle - especially when he crudely points out how close Mandy’s getting to school sponsor Sadiq Nawaz.
